SAMPARC ShishuKendra ,Kolkata was started in February 2005 for the care, upbringing and educating children of socially victim women and poor and needy children at 96/3/1,Mahatma Gandhi road, Haridevpur near 41 Palli Club, near TallyGunj Metro Railway Station.
Most of the children are from Kali ghat area and most of children’s mothers lead a very difficult life. The centre has taken the responsibility of these children. The building of Kolkata Shishu Kendra is the ancestral property of Mr. Amitkumar Banerjee which has been given to SAMPARC for care and protection of children of commercial sex workers. The project is a licensed children’s home under Department of Women and Child Welfare, Government of West Bengal.The centre is well furnished and nicely managed children’s home.

CASE STUDY

An orphanage started in South Kolkata so that orphans, children of socially victimised women to get care and protection, education and social support and to bond them with love, trust and values for their better future.

MORE ABOUT SHISHU KENDRA, KOLKATA

30 children are being taken care of for their accommodation, food, education, and future development. Children of Shishu Kendra attend the SukhranjanVidyaMandir School. All the children receive regular Coaching and support for education in the centre. Boys and girls live in separate accommodation. The centre is trying to accommodate another 20 children.

The Centre is under the guidance of Project Director Mr. Ashit Banerjee with supportive staff working round the clock for overall growth and development of the children. Part time Medical officer takes care of the health related aspects of the children

SAMPARC Shishu Kendra, Kolkata children participate in drawing, sports & games & other cultural activities and receive many prizes in inter school competitions.
