SAMPARC MEDICAL CENTRE

Since 1995 SAMPARC came in close to surrounding village women and the community. SAMPARC first started a training program on sanitation and hygiene, cleanliness, safe drinking water, and nutrition. In the beginning, SAMPARC worked with dozens of traditional herbal medicinal practitioners of surrounding villages to identify existing herbs and medicinal plants. For few years the attempt was to use the herbal plants to treat various diseases. While working closely at the community level it was felt that the community needs preventive medical support. The things become very worse when it was found due to small illness, snake bites, accidents made people die. In the first phase, Mr. Banerjee took the help of Dr. Lalit Chokhani, Trustee of SAMPARC and Mrs. Lucilla Monti to start a medical van project with the doctor. The Van started to visit nearby 25 villages. Gradually it was realized a center to develop for coordination of basic medical requirements of local people. Thus a medical center was constructed at SAMPARC Malavli center with 14 beds so that patients can be given treatment during the day time and other specialized doctors to attend various needs of the patient. Dr. Satish Patil, MD who took the responsibility as Director of Medical Centre now the center is working for  the rural poor of villages of Maval Taluka of District Pune to provide health care facilities. SAMPARC medical Centre provides its services through OPD, IPD, Dental, Pediatric, Medical Mobile Clinic & Dermatology department to cater the needs of the rural poor patients along with the Pathology Lab & X-Ray Unit. The Mobile Medical Clinic provides medical service to rural poor residing in rural interior villages. It provides health service to rural poor of village- Patan, Bhaje, Takwe, Fangane, Devale, Lohagad, Gherewadi, Boraj, Taje, Pimploli, Mundaware, Sadapur, Aundoli, Dongargaon and surrounding villages of Maval Taluka, District Pune to attend the sick and ailing patients who are unable to visit the hospital for treatment. Also, the Centre organizes regular health camps & health awareness sessions to the rural poor by doctors from Pune and Mumbai who are specialized in their respective fields. The health check-up camps are conducted in collaboration with institutions & hospitals like MIMER General Hospital Talegaon, Doctors from Bombay Hospital, Pioneer hospital, conduct general health check-up, Gynaecology, Orthopaedic, Dental,   Ophthalmology camps and also Ruchika Club Mumbai in association with Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayata Samiti conducts Jaipur Foot camp at SAMPARC for Rural poor patients along with ENT & Eye camps by Specialized doctors from Mumbai.  The Centre also takes care of the medical needs of the children of SAMPARC Balgram, Bhaje, and Bal Asha Ghar. 10000 poor patients are benefitted annually by this Centre. Now along with INSIEME, Ruchika Women’s Club, Volkart Foundation is supporting Medical Centre.
